converter and the KMI 106 analog ARINC converter.
Put simply, the KPL124 DC-DC converter transforms
input voltages ranging from 10v DC to 48v DC into a programmable output voltage of 5, 14 or 28v DC, with other
outputs available on request. Power input is protected by an
internal 30A fuse. The unit's light weight and its selectable
output parameters, combined with high efficiency, result in
one of the best power/weight-ratios in its class, according
to the company. The product meets aviation standards and
requirements and is delivered with an EASA Form 1, with
certification data available on request. Kuerzi also offers to
perform the entire certification task for particular aircraft
types and installations. The KPL124 is currently certified
and in operation on Agusta AW139 aircraft.
The KMI 106 analog ARINC converter meanwhile
converts data from up to 10 analog sensors into standard
ARINC 429 messages. Input sources include two resistance
temperature detector sensors, four thermocouple sensors -
with 12-bit resolution - and four strain gauge sensors, with
16-bit resolution. The KMI 106 AAC also incorporates an
integrated health monitoring system to monitor its internal
status. Like the KPL124, the KMI 106 AAC is designed to
meet aviation requirements and is delivered with an EASA
Form 1. The device can be installed anywhere on any aircraft and customized sensor ranges are available on request
to meet customer requirements.

L3 Aviation Products
Building on the success of its popular Lynx NGT-9000,
an all-in-one ADS-B In/Out panel-mounted transponder,
L3 Aviation Products announced upgrades enabling new
capabilities as well as an improved and revised version
of the unit's underlying operating software. The company
also introduced the NXG-900 WAAS GPS sensor, which is
designed to be paired with the L3 NXT-700 transponder for
full ADS-B compliance. Through December 2017, L3 is
offering a trade-in allowance when operators replace a
legacy MST-67A transponder with the NXT-700.
But the big news from L3 revolves around newly
released version 2.1 of the NGT-9000's operating software. For example, the software upgrade enhances the
unit's existing ADS-B Traffic Advisory System feature,
which provides pilots an aural alert when traffic is nearby. When equipped with the version 2.1 software, ATAS
now will provide traffic alerts over the aircraft's audio

system when it's below 500 feet above ground level. The
upgrade makes the NGT-9000 the only ADS-B transponder
alerting pilots to potential conflicts in an airport's traffic
pattern, according to the company.
TerrainVision, which provides relative altitude shading
for terrain and obstacles, is another new feature the version 2.1 software provides. An $895 option, TerrainVision
is designed for both fixed- and rotor-wing aircraft. Also
enabled with the new operating software is the capability
for the NGT-9000 to display lightning-strike information
generated by a WX-500 Stormscope, combining ADS-B
In's FIS-B weather information with real-time lightning
detection. The software upgrade also facilitates dual NGT9000 installations: When one of two installed NGT-9000s
is put into standby mode, it will retain the ability to process
and display all TIS-B, FIS-B and Stormscope data.
Expected to be available during the second quarter of
2017, L3 also will be adding TCAS I to the NGT-9000. The
$3,200 option provides embedded TCAS I capability to any
NGT-9000 model, replacing any existing TCAS I hardware.

Latitude Technologies
Latitude Technologies is a global supplier of flight data
management, flight following and Satcom solutions for

introduced its newest product, the SkyNode S200-012 ATS
Safety Services satellite communications system, to AEA
members.
According to Latitude, its SkyNode S200-012 is the
world's lightest and most versatile integrated aeronautical communications device. It provides security and crew

(safety critical) and private communications to ATC/AOC/
AAC, plus caller authentication, priority
