Taking the applicant from the new and novel concept to producing
and marketing the product (STC, kit, etc.). The course will start at the
concept phase and walk through the documentation and communication;
certification plan; demonstration; production (kit/PMA); and then continued
airworthiness while following the FAA and Industry Guide to Product
Certification where applicable.

The AEA has developed a proprietary SMS program designed for
maintenance organizations, sized for small businesses and leveraged
by the 900-strong repair station membership. This program has been
coordinated with regulatory authorities around the world and includes an
introduction to SMS, a discussion of safety elements such as safety culture,
hazard identification, risk management and continuous improvement, and
concludes with an overview of the AEA's online management system and
how to get started.
