UNIVERSAL AVIONICS SYSTEMS CORP. received

FAA technical standard order authorization for the
company's new Flight Management System/MultiMissions Management System software version SCN
1002.0/1102.0. With the introduction of this software,
helicopter operators can now take advantage of
localizer performance level of service approaches and a
transition to hover search pattern.
The LP approach marks the fourth LOS supported by
Universal Avionics Satellite-Based Augmentation SystemFMS. The best approach LOS (lowest minimum decision
height) is automatically selected by the FMS, or the pilot
may manually select an available approach LOS after
FMS approach arming/before the final approach fix is

sequenced. This added capability allows operation of LP
approaches for 655 charted procedures serving 495 U.S.
airports, with more being added each month by the FAA.
In addition, the company announced that ground
testing for Heli-One's Sikorsky S-76B helicopter
upgrade program featuring a Universal Avionics flight
deck is now complete, with flight testing imminent.
The aircraft is operated by a VVIP operator in Asia.
The upgraded, modern glass cockpit includes the
installation of three EFI-890H Advanced Flight Displays
with Vision-1 Synthetic Vision System and a UNS1Fw Satellite-Based Augmentation System-Flight
Management System.

Technisonic

DAC INTERNATIONAL, a subsidiary of Aero
Precision Holdings LP, announced that as RDDS
Avionics' North American distributor, RDDS will introduce its newest airborne multifunction display range,
SENSE.
RDDS Avionics is a design firm and manufacturer of
mission-critical airborne displays, video distribution and
conversion equipment to the global airborne surveillance operator community.
In addition to the new SENSE range, RDDS will debut
its latest airborne computer the RD3003, combining the
full specification performance demanded by today's feature-rich mission management software solutions, with a
rugged, DO160G fully qualified form and fit.

a new opportunity to a wider audience of aerospace

TECHNISONIC announced the development and
fielding of its new multipurpose communication port
on the TDFM-9000 series radios. Developed in
response to customer requests, and now implemented
in the TDFM-9100 multi-band radio, Technisonic has
improved this radio by expanding the platform's capability to fully support an additional two external communications devices beyond the radio's internal multiband FM modules.
"For some time, we have had customers requesting
the support of both legacy and non-P25 technologies to
be implemented into our TDFM platforms: Moto-turbo,
Harris, PRC and satellite communications to name a
few," said JAMES HUDDOCK, business development
manager for Technisonic. "The development of the new
MCP technology has now vastly expanded the capability of Technisonic's products, while maintaining the critical mission focus we have become known for."
