in Chattanooga that's as big and strong
as Grand Junction and East Alton. That's
going to take a little bit, but we're working
toward that goal."
Cunningham has 33 years of experience
in aviation, beginning with Garrett Aviation
in Springfield, Illinois. She, along with three
other employees, left Garrett to join Premier
Air Center in East Alton in 2002. At the
time, the service center focused mainly on
Citations, Falcons and Gulfstreams.
"We had to wear a lot of hats back then,"
she continued. "I handled interior sales,
interior quotes, marketing, whatever needed
to be done. We've grown quite a bit since
2002. We're very proud of what we've
accomplished."
After the Garrett team joined Premier
Air Center, the principal owners purchased
West Star Aviation in Grand Junction,
which specialized in Citations, Learjets,
Hawkers, and some smaller aircraft. The
facilities operated under the dual name of
Premier Air Center and West Star Aviation
until it became too cumbersome. In 2007,
the company consolidated under the brand
West Star Aviation.
Today, the facilities service all types of
corporate aircraft, handling maintenance,
avionics, engines, interior modifications
and paint, serving primarily individual
owner-operators and aircraft management
companies.
"We have an exceptional return customer
business," Cunningham said. "More than 70
percent of our business is return customers.
We owe that success to our dedicated
technicians and staff. Our sales people can
go out and talk with a customer who has
never been to West Star, and encourage them
to come to us the first time. But the return
