BENDIXKING unveiled xVue Touch, a primary flight display for

experimental aircraft. Available now, the new cockpit technology
provides builders and pilots with a touchscreen flight display built
with superior craftsmanship at an affordable price, according to the
company.
The new flight display represents a major milestone for
BendixKing as its first product specifically launched for
experimental category aircraft.
The xVue Touch is a touchscreen-enabled primary flight display
for experimental aircraft that replaces the traditional six-pack of
mechanical instruments. This replacement features a 10.1-inch
display with near-4K resolution. The flight display is designed
with no moving parts such as cooling fans, which reduces aircraft
weight and maintenance cost. It also comes standard with several
features that help increase pilot safety and awareness, especially
when flying and landing at night, navigating through bad weather,
or approaching unfamiliar airports. One feature is Honeywell's
SmartView Synthetic Vision System, a vertical situation display
that shows flight path over terrain, and the ability to display ADS-B
weather.

technology that provides pilots with the best value for their money

The xVue Touch also is an open and connected system, as
the flight display interfaces with competing navigation systems
installed in many aircraft. It also uses Wi-Fi so that pilots can
easily update databases, charts and system software in less than
10 minutes. Also included in xVue Touch are free future software
updates, which will include engine indicators, radio information and
autopilot control.

AVIONICA announced that, in

collaboration with L2 Aviation, the
company has earned AML-STC from
the Federal Aviation Administration
for miniQAR (Quick Access Recorder)
and avCM (Cellular Module). The
new AML STC is for Part 23 aircraft,
opening the door for aircraft like
HondaJet, Pilatus PC-12, Phenom
300 and others to get these
capabilities that have traditionally
been used in air transport category
aircraft, according to the company.
"The miniQAR Mk III packs a lot of
recording capability into a very small
package," said ANTHONY RIOS, vice
president of sales. "We pioneered
miniaturized QARs for aviation
and now, with wireless transfer
capabilities, built in solid-state
reliability, 3,000 hours of recording
capacity, and easy installation,
operators of light jets can take
advantage of our industry-leading
data management capability."
The solution certified by L2 Aviation
couples the miniQAR MkIII with
Avionca's new avCM Cellular Module,
enabling operators to get automated
QAR data offloaded to their preferred
ground systems or Avionica's hosted
avSYNC cloud-based server. The
miniQAR MKIII supports on-ground
internet access for IFE systems, EFB
updates, and operational datalinks
over a 4G network.
