corporate operators and flight schools. Lately, the repair
station has been expanding its avionics service to turboprops,
light jets and Part 25 aircraft.
"On the lighter side of Part 25, there's going to be a real need
over the next two years or so for ADS-B," Fetherston said. "A
lot of heavier metal operators have been procrastinating because
their upgrades are very expensive. We're well positioned to help.
We're at an airport that has WAAS approaches, long runways
and ILS. We have a great facility and ability to handle pretty
much any size aircraft in our hangar."
Connecting with customers
Fetherston connects with owner-operators because he's a pilot,
too, with more than 4,000 hours of flight time. He began flying
at 16 and is instrument-rated for fixed-wing and helicopters.

"I have a lot of flying underneath my belt," Fetherston said.
"We fly every aircraft we work on and understand what it is. I
wouldn't install something I wouldn't put in my own airplane.
"We work with customers to find the right equipment for
them. It's mission, budget and technology. Those three things
force you into a decision. If you're wanting to go flying for
breakfast on a Sunday but won't go if the weather looks iffy, then
I don't want to sell you $30,000 of really cool GPS equipment.
I want to give you something that makes your flying more
enjoyable. At the same time, if you're flying hard IFR in the
winter down to minimums, I don't want you flying with 50-yearold instruments."
