Trig Avionics

Garmin

TRIG AVIONICS announced plans to open
a new European office in the Netherlands, to
enhance sales and support activities.
Trig manufactures surveillance, communication
and navigation equipment, used in light aircraft.
The company's products are exported to 42
countries around the world.
According to the company, this new venture is
part of Trig's long-term business development.
"Europe is a key market and having a new base
in the Netherlands will bring us closer to many
of our regular customers," said Trig CEO ANDY
DAVIS. "Our new office will include a dedicated
repair facility, and this will enhance our service
offer."
Trig's new location will be in the city of
Amersfoort, in the province of Utrecht. According
to Trig, work is already underway to create a
purpose-built service workshop and office space
in Amersfoort, and local staff recruitment in the
Netherlands has started.
In addition, Trig Avionics announced plans
for a future nav/comm product family, which is
expected to be available to pilots in early 2019.
The first preview of the product is being made
now, allowing pilots to see the newly designed
TX56 Nav/Com. Using a slimline form factor and
innovative features, the TX56 will be easy to
install and use, according to the company.

GARMIN made several announcements prior to
EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.
First, Garmin is adding significant capability,
more configuration options and offering greater
integration throughout the GTN 650/750
touchscreen navigators, the G500 TXi/G600 TXi
and G500/G600 flight displays, as well as the
GFC 600 and GFC 500 autopilots. Additionally,
the G5 electronic flight instrument for certificated
aircraft is being approved for use as a standby
instrument when paired with the G500 TXi or G500
flight displays. The GFC 500 autopilot will also be
approved for installation with the G500 TXi or G500
flight displays, while the addition of descent vertical
navigation within the GTN will aid in descent
planning, according to the company.
In addition, Garmin announced continued
progress in aircraft approvals for the GFC 600 and
GFC 500 autopilots. The imminent certification
of several aircraft also add to the growing list
of approvals for both autopilots. The Bonanza/
Debonair (C33, E33, F33, G33), Cessna 210 and
Grumman AA-5 series will soon be approved for
the GFC 500 autopilot, while the Beechcraft Baron
(58P, 58TC) and Cessna 208B will add to the list of
the GFC 600.
Garmin also announced the GWX 75, a new
addition to its suite of weather radars. Intended for
a wide range of aircraft, the Doppler-based, solidstate GWX 75 incorporates exceptional range and
a new, enhanced color palette that features more
color contouring than traditional weather radar on
the market. A helicopter version of the weather
radar, the GWX 75H is also available. Optional
features such as turbulence detection and ground
clutter suppression are available with the GWX 75,
according to Garmin.
