The company's AeroPoint 200 engine monitor employs a
high-resolution display and is designed for certified singleengine aircraft. Its
proven technology acts
displaying a menu of
critical and informational
parameters for a variety of
engines and aircraft. The
AeroPoint 300 is designed
for certified twin-engine
aircraft. Like its singleengine companion,
it includes a built-in
BendixKing's AeroPoint 200
engine monitor
learning procedure for
mixture leaning either rich
or lean of peak exhaust gas temperature and provides detailed
diagnostic information, monitors engine temperatures and
aircraft voltages, and can help diagnose engine malfunctions.
The xPoint 100 targets experimental, light sport and other
noncertified aircraft. It's compact, weighing only 13 ounces,
and also features a high-resolution display, plus capability of
monitoring a wide variety of engine parameters.
BendixKing also introduced what Kaufmann called a "costeffective" autopilot series, the AeroCruze 100 for certified
airplanes and the xCruze 100 for experimental applications.
The AeroCruze 100 digital autopilot comes in three form
factors: 2.25-inch round, 3.125-inch round or a rectangular
package designed for an avionics stack. Standard features
include two standard servos, a built-in ground track directional
gyro, track-select mode, GPS navigation mode, including
approach coupling, altitude hold, automatic pitch trim and
more. The AeroCruze 100 is already approved for the Cessna
172, 175, 177 and 180, plus Piper PA-28 airplanes. Cessna
182 and Piper PA-32 approvals are expected "any day now,"
Kaufman said.
The xCruze 100, meanwhile, also is available in the same
three form factors. It includes all of the same features as the
AeroCruze 100, but priced for experimental, light sport and
other noncertified aircraft.

Blue Avionics
Blue Avionics designs and manufacturers what the company
calls "adaptable avionics," products to help integrate and
simplify complex installations, especially with units that aren't
properly communicating, perhaps due to ARINC 429 issues.

Blue Avionics' new BA-110 ACU
and annunciations,
can perform data-bus
combining and/or filtering, and interface new products with
existing autopilots.
One of the ways these feats are accomplished is through
ARINC bus remapping, which may involve complex math
calculations and dynamic filtering. The products can be used
in designing overspeed warning horn or stick-puller systems
or accommodating TAWS Mode 5 alerting on LVP and RNP
instrument approaches. According to Blue Avionics, the BA-440
and BA-540 offer hundreds of solutions simply by changing
configuration, meaning that customized solutions can be ready
quicker.
The BA-540 is aboard NASA's Boeing 747SP deployed as
the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy where it
drives EFIS overspeed barber poles, allowing Vmo and Mmo
calculations throughout all aircraft configuration changes. On
the Learjet 35A, it can drive both the Mach exceedance stick
pusher and either IAS or Mach overspeed warnings.
Both products are already in use aboard a wide variety of
aircraft from manufacturers like Bombardier, Dassault, Piaggio,
Boeing and Sikorsky, to name a few. Certification authorities
include the FAA, EASA, CASA, TCCA, CAAC and many
DGACs. They are designed to DO-178C DAL B/DO-254 DAL
B standards, plus the highest categories of DO-160G.
Blue Avionics' new BA-110 ACU, meanwhile, converts
ARINC 429 data into two CSDB (commercial standard
digital bus) outputs and can be used in air data, transponder,
communications, navigation, flight control, EFIS and vertical
navigation applications.
