BendixKing KMA 24H
BendixKing continues to offer a sampling of
products for virtually every function and level of
aviation. Our example here: the company's KMA
24H.
The KMA 24H uses the separate alternate action
push-button switching long favored by BendixKing,
with isolation amplifiers for both speaker and
headphones, an integral intercom with hot mike,
and voice-actuated or keyed activation for up to
five intercom stations. The KMA 24H also features
automatic headphone audio and pilot push-to-talk
priority. The model also offers switching positions
for four or five comm radios, two navs, two ADFs,
a DME, a marker-beacon receiver, speaker auto, PA
system and an emergency speaker system.
BendixKing KMA 30
BendixKing designed the KMA 30 audio panel to
complement the look and feel of other BendixKing
products, particularly for the matching KSN 770 allin-one. The BendixKing KMA 30 music and phone
Bluetooth capability provides unsurpassed audio
flexibility throughout the airplane. Simply connect
the phone - with full-duplex phone capability - and
audio devices.
Then just effortlessly switch between audio sources
for the same quality audio throughout.
BendixKing designed the KMA 30 to make it
simple for the pilot to control audio throughout
the aircraft. The pilot can control the volume and
distribution of both music sources, the VHF comm
radios, even the telephone, directly right from the
audio panel. The pilot can even control music - on or
off - for the pilot while in isolate mode.
Dynon SV-INTERCOM-2S
Dynon's PS Engineering-designed SVINTERCOM-2S stereo, two-place intercom offers
audio connectivity for EFIS alerts and music that
is usually only found in full-size audio panels. The
SV-INTERCOM-2S solves the problem of having
to choose between systems with few features or one

with the desired features but at a much higher price.
For experimental and light-sport aircraft, this model
provides ample inputs for the glass-cockpit EFIS
systems common to these aircraft, as well as inputs
for stereo music, and VOX squelch.

Garmin
Garmin offers a deep variety of audio-control panel
products, including versions of them suitable for
panel or remote-mount installation.
Garmin targeted the GMA 245 for the experimental
and light-sport markets, while equipping it with many
high-end features found in other panels.
Garmin calls the GMS 342 a model "for pilots who
want the best of the basics in audio control, combined
with rich 'home theater' quality sound." Garmin
gave the GMA 342 an all-digital architecture, with
many features found previously on high-end audio
management systems. And to make the upgrade as
easy and inexpensive as possible, Garmin made the
GMA 342 a direct slide-in replacement for legacy
GMA 340 or select third-party audio control panels.
Throw in Bluetooth connectivity and the audio
panel becomes a GMA 345 with all the same
advanced features as the 342.
The GMA 350 is Garmin's most-advanced and
feature-deep audio panel, incorporating many handsfree functions into its features list. It's available
in several incarnations, depending on the features
desired by the operator.
PS Engineering
This is the company that built its business and
reputation on a foundation of providing excellent
cockpit-audio solutions for general-aviation
operators.
The company pioneered many functions, including
its excellent voice-activated audio functions, soft
muting, differential sound and more.
PS Engineering's options range from the PMA
4000 - a TSO'd intercom and audio panel so small it
can fit into a 2.5-inch instrument-panel opening while
controlling multiple audio sources - to the PMA 8000
and its various incarnations.
Simply put, no one offers a wider range of audiocontrol and intercom solutions than PS Engineering.
