manually remove the device.
"This automated service is revolutionary for the
industry as it provides operators with the ability to test
their equipment and generate the necessary documentation
faster than ever before," explained Chris Jesse, chief
technology officer, Flight Data Services, L3Harris. "With
Express Readout, operators are provided with a much
faster and higher level of accuracy when compared with
human validation alone; saving time and resources."
L3Harris said the Express Readout service is designed
with "patented algorithms (used to) identify unusual
parameter patterns and highlight these to the user for
inspection." The service also provides analytic tools,
including charts allowing users "to inspect every
parameter in detail and assess up to 50 flight hours of
data, across multiple flights, within the same readout."
Associated report files are available in various formats and
on numerous platforms, and data are stored indefinitely,
which L3Harris said exceeds regulatory requirements.
L3 Harris' Express Readout is available as an automated
self-service solution or as a full-service validation, which
includes an expert assessment on the recorded data.

MyGoFlight
One avionics product often available on Part 25
transports popular with corporate and business aviation
operators is the head-up display, or HUD, but the
technology typically hasn't trickled down to Part 23 small
airplanes, regardless of how sophisticated the rest of its
equipment is. MyGoFlight, which got its start offering
premium kneeboards and now markets a wide range of
iPad mounts, cases, cradles, flight bags, luggage and
anti-glare glass, now is offering the SkyDisplay HUD
specifically for those Part 23 airplanes.
The SkyDisplay HUD places critical flight information

derived from the aircraft's primary flight instrumentation
directly in front of the pilot's forward view, including
flight path, flight director cues, aircraft energy state,
altitude and airspeed. It incorporates next-generation
display technologies, allowing it to achieve a footprint
small enough to fit into cockpits that were not an option
before. MyGoFlight said a HUD like its SkyDisplay
places such critical information right in the pilot's view in
all conditions and phases of flight, making flying safer.
Those safety enhancements include during takeoff,
when pilots can watch both the runway and their
airplane's acceleration, plus smoother hand-flying in
visual conditions, with attitude and altitude information
right out in front of the pilot. In-flight loss of control,
a longtime safety problem among general aviation
operators, also can be minimized by aligning critical flight
information with the outside view, the company said,
enhancing situational awareness and minimizing the risks
of inadvertently entering instrument conditions while
flying visually.
The SkyDisplay HUD consists of two components,
the 1-pound display itself and a remote-mounted display
processor. It requires a primary flight display ("glass
panel") and input from its air data, attitude and heading
reference system. The HUD itself is a liquid-crystal
display with light-emitting diode backlighting offering
480-by-240 resolution, plus automatic or manual
brightness control. The unit's power requirements range
from 12-28 VDC; custom mounting and cockpit fitments
are available.
