Wildcats from near and far returned to campus
to celebrate Alumni Weekend
The weekend started Friday morning with the Wildcat Classic Golf Tournament to raise funds for
Baker student-athletes. That evening at the Golden Alumni Reunion and Alumni Recognition
Dinner, the Alumni Association presented more than 30 golden medallions to members of the Class of
1968. Thelma (Simmons) Wever, '48, celebrated her 70th reunion year. Also honored were the Alumni
Award recipients. "They are seen as leaders in their field while providing an example for current and
future alumni to follow," said Director of Alumni Relations Doug Barth, '91.
After a full day of events on Saturday, alumni gathered for Greek house reunions (STAG), where they
reconnected with friends, met current students, and enjoyed a visit from Dr. Murray. The last event of
the day was the Alumni Social, a casual get-together for all alumni.
The weekend concluded with the Commencement ceremony on Sunday. Family and friends of the
class of 2018 cheered on the graduates as they celebrated their first day as Baker alumni.
"Alumni Weekend is my favorite event of the year," Barth said. "The orange runs deep, and Baker pride
is on full display."
