What Stay tuned for meeting information at www.spnhc2017denver.org Where The Annual Meeting 32nd Annual Meeting and Banquet The Curtis, a Doubletree by Hilton, Denver, Colorado When June 18-24, 2017 Host Denver Museum of Nature & Science, Denver Botanic Gardens, and Partners Theme The Next Generation in Best Practices Website www.spnhc2017denver.org Welcome Traditional symposia, themed and poster sessions, demo camps, workshops, and a plenary session are being planned around a theme that addresses the core aim of SPNHC. With an anchor in new solutions and best practices, draft themes for technical sessions include public access to collections, moving objects across borders, next steps in digital data, collections care and conservation, sustainability, and moving collections. Workshops currently in development include care of historic mammalian taxidermy, disaster preparedness, evolution of collections data, and directors' summit on digital data. This meeting does not happen without the generous support of our tradeshow partners. The tradeshow will bring together a host of sponsoring partners whose products and technologies help us meet the unique demands of 21st century collections care, access, and use, along with an important industry focus on being green. A variety of fieldtrips highlighting Colorado's unique natural and cultural history will be offered. Collection tours of the Avenir Collections Center will be a highlight. Exciting social events will culminate in a gala celebration at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science! Events Social events will include the traditional icebreaker reception held at The Curtis on Tuesday, June 20. On Wednesday, June 21, our sponsoring partners will host a reception in the tradeshow hall. In addition to refresh- Denver Museum of Science & Nature. The local organizing committee, a partnership between the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and the Denver Botanic Gardens, is honored to host the 32nd annual meeting of the Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections. The theme of the meeting is "The Next Generation in Best Practices."
