where we need to improve our current titles. Clubs and individuals are encouraged to submit DVD programs. Judy Dusek, Chair of the annual AV contest has had four entries in this year's contest. These programs will be added to the library. Sara Webb, UFDC Shipping Coordinator, manages our online shop. New products were ordered for the museum shop, which include postcards of dolls from the museum and Unity pins. Helen Kish was commissioned to create a "Tiny Riley" doll dressed in a Unity themed outﬁt. She will be available in the fall for a fundraising project. The Speakers Bureau list was updated. This list of presenters may be contacted to present programs at club events. This list may be requested through headquarters. The Apprentice Judge Program is a program that trains future judges. Trainers Sharon Zerkel and Neal Foster have done an excellent job. Graduates will now be awarded certiﬁcates indicating their completion of course requirements. Mary Elizabeth Groupe completed her certiﬁcation requirements and received our ﬁrst Apprentice Judge certiﬁcate. We presently have eight students in the program. The Executive Committee at the fall meeting approved a new program to provide ongoing educational experience for UFDC members. UFDC University will provide classes for members with a variety of courses including leadership training. It is the goal to provide classes not only at conventions and regional meetings but online. The Scholarship program provides an opportunity for UFDC members to share their research. This year no scholarships were awarded. The committee will be meeting to develop a mentoring program for future researchers. The goal is to have the mentoring program launched in the fall of 2016 as part of UFDC University. The Director organized 10 programs for the 2015 convention focusing on a variety of topics. She worked with Nancy Percival, Workshop Chair, and Kate Reed, Classroom Educator, to provide attendees with in-depth educational experiences during the convention. We thank Nancy and Kate for their efforts in organizing a diverse selection of activities. The Director and Museum Coordinator arranged for the loan of three dolls from the UFDC Museum to be exhibited at this year's convention Special Exhibit - "Dolls with Wardrobes." The dolls displayed will allow attendees to view these wonderful dolls from our collection. The ReAL Service department continues to grow with the goal of providing the best service to our membership. We strive to improve our educational outreach to our members. Loretta Nardone Director of ReAL Services 2016 Annual Report Second Vice-President Director of Convention Services T he 67th Annual UFDC Convention will be held July 27-30, 2016. The purpose of convention is to hold UFDC's Annual Meeting. The convention also provides an opportunity for doll collectors from around the world to experience educational activities, attend special ticketed theme meal events, enjoy local sightseeing opportunities, and shop in a salesroom offering a wide variety of dolls and doll-related items. The convention theme "Kindred Spirits" reﬂects the bond we have with our dolls and with our fellow collectors. This year we are returning to the Washington Hilton, located at 1919 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. 20009. The Washington Hilton was the site of our very successful 2013 convention. The contract with the hotel was negotiated several years ago, but was renegotiated in response to the desires of our attendees to return to a Saturday night banquet schedule. The UFDC room block has been ﬁlled and the convention has met its hotel responsibilities. As of June 30, 2016, full convention registration is 870 and limited is 131, for a total of 1,001 attendees. "Emily," the souvenir doll for the 2016 convention, was crafted by doll artist Heather Maciak. A companion doll, "Annie" and a wardrobe designed for either doll will be offered for sale. Several pre-convention activities will be held. An all-day workshop, "Making a Milliner's Model" with Gail Wilson, and a ticketed tour of Hillwood Mansion and Gardens, the home of Marjorie Merriweather Post will take place on Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Additionally, Wilde Imagination has joined our sister organization the Original Doll Artist Council of America participating in pre-convention activities. This year's convention includes: * Thirteen ticketed meal events with dolls from Helen Kish, Sylvia Natterer, Goldie Wilson, Beverly Stoehr, Maggie Iacono, Robert Tonner/Dollspart, Gail Wilson, Ruby Red Galleria, Darlene Lane, Käthe Kruse, Maryanne Oldenburg, R. John Wright and Madame Alexander. Peg Farwell served as event coordinator, working as the liaison with the sponsoring clubs. Peg is sincerely thanked for all her hard work with the various events. * The convention is highlighted by ﬁve exhibits which reﬂect the convention theme: Kindred Spirits Artist Heather Maciak, Tasha Tudor, An Artistic View of Life, Kindred Spirits at Work - Advertising Dolls, Dolls With Wardrobes and Kindred Spirits At Heart - The Artists of NIADA.
