T Patchogue Doll Fanciers Club, New York he Winter 2017 issue of Doll News had a twelve-page article about Matryosaka (Russian Nesting Dolls); and since Russia has been in the news this winter, our club had a craft night about these Russian dolls at our February 27th meeting. Diane Tuttle brought in 30 Matryosaka dolls from her collection so all our members could see the many varieties. Everyone was given a starter kit to create six Matryosaka cards. Diane created six samples in advance for members to see. Everyone went home with great expectations of creativity and agreed to complete their projects for the April 10th meeting when we would display them and take photos. Members had fun crafting and it was amazing to see the variety of costumes the members created.
