Elise - Over Time by Bruce A. deArmond The mid-century American fashion doll came in different sizes and was made by various manufactures for diff erent markets. "Elise" was a response by the Alexander Doll Company to have the smaller version 16-½-inch "Elise" available to her immensely popular 20-inch big sister "Cissy." While "Elise" never reached the popularity of "Cissy," she did have a very long doll career. She would morph and change to adapt to a changing culture, the evolving fashion of different decades, and a baby boomer market that was growing up. 40 SUMMER 2017
