Steiff produced several Mickey Mouse-themed toy novelties including a hand puppet from 1931 through 1933. "Record Mickey" was a pull toy on wooden wheels made from 1931 through 1933. "King Louie" was 25 cm., with a jointed head, and made from brown and orange Crylor. "Baby Hathi" was 20 cm., unjointed and made from grey Dralon. Each left the factory in Giengen, Germany, with a special chest tag noting their Steiff and Disney licensing partnership. It is interesting to note, that because of The Jungle Book's ongoing popularity and legacy, Steiff continued to occasionally produce animals based on this film over several decades. Highlights of this ongoing collaboration include a set of four slightly smaller Jungle Book animals made from woven fur from 1979 through 1982 as well as mohair versions of "King Louie" and "Baloo" that were both produced in 2003 as 3,000-piece limited editions.
