EFFANBEE'S FLUFFY By Jane Foster Photography by Gerald Foster Dolls are from author's collection unless otherwise noted Fluffy " "graced Effanbee's catalog for a decade. She was introduced by Effanbee in 1954 and was an important doll in their line through 1965. She was advertised as having "The highest quality vinyl and completely tubbable." Actually there were different versions of Fluffy. Fluffy was fully jointed, made of vinyl, and 11 inches tall. One version is marked "Effanbee Fluffy" - this doll has blue sleep eyes with lashes. Another version is marked "EFFANBEE//LITTLE LADY//FLUFFY" and has blue stationary eyes. However, some examples of "Fluffy" with the stationary eyes were just marked "Effanbee/ Fluffy." During this time period, Effanbee interchanged doll body parts to use some of their existing molds so that would explain some of the variations in the markings found on the dolls.
