It had long been my practice to separate our living space from my work; so when my sister insisted that I put my favorite dolls into the china cabinet in our new living room, I was reluctant. Eventually, I did take two of the four shelves to showcase some of the designs that I didn't think I would mind seeing every day. When it came time to choose dolls for the retrospective display at the 68th annual UFDC Convention in Orlando; I went to my china cabinet first. Then I searched the basement room where we 104 FALL 2017 set up our display cabinets from the old studio to find the rest. It was quite a different experience from our retrospective display in Dallas (2006) where we just loaded up everything I had ever done, including borrowing back one-of-a-kinds from friends and family. This time I had to drastically pare down the dolls that would represent me as a doll artist. The retrospective display included the smallest doll I have ever made - a 3-inch jointed resin baby model - and one of the largest vinyl dolls that we ever produced - 28-inch "Isabelle Rose." The pieces shown were mainly vinyl or vinyl heads with mold injected hard plastic bodies, as well as a few BJDs and a handful of porcelain examples.
