Joseph Kallus created the "Flexy" jointed wire body characters for Ideal in 1939. Popular characters included Edgar Bergin's "Mortimer Snerd," Fanny Brice as "Baby Snooks," the Philip Morris mascot and variations on clowns, including "Mortimer Snerd." They are each 12 inches tall, and their molded character faces are composition. Also made in 1939 were original characters named "Sunny Sam" and "Sunny Sue." They are also 12 inches tall with composition heads. 130 FALL 2017
