of these fabulous dolls to your collection. They really represent some of the very best realistic child dolls by a superbly talented sculptor. Model 102 comes next numerically and is a slightly older child than the 101 model and is known as "Walter." The model 102 is distinctive for his great molded and painted hair and only comes in 12-inch and 22-inch sizes with painted eyes. A very rare composition socket head of the 102, which is shown in this article is an exception to only featuring bisque head dolls. When looking at the composition model 102, one cannot help but recall the Munich Art dolls that started this entire movement. Going a little out of sequence is model 107 which is being discussed here since it is obviously the exact same sculpt as the 102 but with a wig instead of the molded hair is and known as "Carl." Model 107 also only comes in the two sizes and only with painted eyes. The models 102 and 107 are positively the work of Lewin-Funcke based on his 1898 bust, aptly entitled "Portrait of a boy." The photo shows a porcelain cast of that bust. K✡R 112, with glass eyes bears a resemblance to the model 100 at the start of the series. The K✡R 109, known as "Elise," is shown here with painted eyes. This K✡R 112X is a painted eye variation with flocked hair. DOLL NEWS * UFDC.ORG 19http://www.UFDC.ORG
