The photo in the picture is of the mannequin wearing a similar girdle. My two ladies represent only a small segment of the history of retail fashion merchandising as it was in the mid 21st century. These Lilliputian icons are a reflection of fashion as we knew it many decades ago. All of this we owe to our ancestor, Eve, who set in motion a precedence for ladies' clothing when she plucked the first fig leaf to wear. As these figures and many others like them are being retrieved from dusty attics and long forgotten storage facilities, they are finding their way into collections of those who appreciate Art Deco, advertising points of purchase and doll collecting as well.
