Lauren Poteet's doll models her new sandals. Now that she is costumed, must "Stylista" go barefoot? Not for those attending the Wednesday afternoon workshop. Participants cut out, glued and decorated a pair of sandals to fit her. And to provide shade from the hot Florida sun there were also white straw hats to be decorated. And what does "Stylista" do in her spare time while not out at the pool? Perhaps play board games or engage in her favorite hobbies. Junior Collectors at Thursday's workshop made board games for their dolls, as well as jump ropes, a knitting bag, etc. Friday afternoon was perhaps the highlight of the convention for Junior Collectors as they attended the "Fun in the Sun" Junior Collector Tea co-hosted by the Bux-Mont Doll Lovers Club of Chalfont, Pennsylvania and the Shaker Doll Club of Albany, New York. The afternoon tea featured the beloved Ginny doll. A variety of Ginnys were generously donated by the Vogue Doll Company of California as souvenirs and door prizes for the Junior Collectors. An interesting, educational program and display by Judith Emerson showed Ginny as she changed through the years. Cory Barrows is all smiles in the Sandals and Hat workshop. Fern Creson shows off one of the sandals for her "Stylista" doll. Lauren Poteet is at work braiding her doll's purse chain. Ashley Mondesir weaves a braided chain for her doll's purse.
