A visit to Springfield, Illinois enhances this history lesson. Miss Percy and Mr. Lincoln share so much in common. Lincoln was President when Rose made her debut; they will both be remembered for their contributions during the Civil War. But how did Miss Rose Percy find her way to the Metropolitan Sanitary Fair of 1864 and thus become one of the most important dolls in American History?
