4. If using self-made piping, pin piping on to edge of apron with piped edge on the inside, and trim to be able to sew a seam of 1/8-inch. Be sure to turn the ends of the piping facing down and outside the edge to keep them concealed neatly inside when you turn the apron inside out. 6. Pin back to front. Take each 6-½-inch piece of ribbon and tie a little knot in the end. Tuck the ribbon ties inside between both apron pieces (front and back), leaving the knot end out. This prevents the ribbon coming out in the future. Continue to use the zipper foot and sew front and back together following along the seam you made sewing on the piping. Leave an opening at one edge, about 1½- inches (marked by a white-tipped pin) to turn the apron inside out. Piping can be omitted from the apron. If you do, just sew a 1/8-inch seam, leaving an opening to turn inside out. 5. Use a zipper foot when sewing the piping onto the front of the apron, as well as when attaching the back. 7. Turn apron inside out and whipstitch or ladder-stitch the opening closed. DOLL NEWS * UFDC.ORG 49http://www.UFDC.ORG
