Eleven-inch "Eototo" is a Chief Katsina, who controls the seasons. During the ceremony he pours water from his gourd of sacred water. The doll was carved by Tino Yovella. ca. 1972 Katsinas are looked upon as friends who are interested in the lives and well-being of the Pueblo people. As the katsina dancers are welcomed into WKHYLOODJHWKH\SUHVHQWJLIWVWRWKH inhabitants. These gifts include katsina GROOVSODTXHVOLJKWQLQJVWLFNVVWDONV RIFRUQERZVDQGDUURZVDQGRWKHU traditional gifts for their friends the Pueblo peoples. Pictured here are two "Supai" or "Kanin" katsinas.
