Display of bride collection with Wedding photo. From the collection of Carol Noel. This Barbie was dressed for her daughter. From the collection of Betty Lubbert. I had a whole large case filled with bride dolls from many makers and of differing materials. My daughter was not thoroughly amused when I had a friend, Ellen Haytas, design and create a junior ensemble for my travel doll Sophie, which matched her own bridesmaid gowns. But she good naturedly agreed to have a photo taken with the three of us on her wedding day. I have added a few more brides and grooms, mother of bride, flower girls and ring bearers along with various wedding accoutrements, since my daughter's wedding 10 years ago. I have even filled the display cases at my local library with June bride dolls, sharing the love of dolls, fashions and traditions with the public. As a lover of history and fashion, I enjoy learning about bride dolls and wedding traditions from around the world. We are very fortunate to have this issue of DOLL NEWS filled with the beauty and stories of these lovely dolls.
