SIU Today Fall 2021 - 4

SIU Today
As an SIU professional and member of IASIU, you know that the
trends of insurance fraud are ever changing. We've seen an evolution
as fraudsters utilize technology to commit insurance fraud, whether
it be through documentation, the manipulation of identities, or the
more complex and advanced schemes perpetrated. We've also seen
the impact the pandemic has had on the type of fraud committed,
including an increase in auto and homeowner theft fraud and identity
theft. Keeping up with the ever-changing landscape of fraud is our
responsibility and IASIU is here to lead the way. As the global leaders
in advancing excellence in the fraud fighting community, we make
it our priority to ensure our members have the training resources
available to advance their knowledge and careers. This is being
accomplished through many different means. As an IASIU member
make sure you are taking advantage of all that is available to you:
* In partnership with NICB, NICTA courses are available to IASIU
members at no cost.
* Webinars - Check out our calendar of events to find educational
webinars sponsored by IASIU, IASIU chapters, and our partners in

IASIU 2021 Annual Seminar
Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, Orlando, FL
The CIFI prep course and CIFI exam, and the CIFA
exam will be administered on September 12.
This year's conference will be held September 12 - 15 at the Sapphire
Falls Resort in Orlando, FL and will focus on welcoming our
members back to an in-person conference. It will be a great time
for our attendees to reconnect while they grow their fraud fighting
knowledge. This year's conference will include over 30 workshops
on topics impacting our industry today, such as technology trends,
major case investigations, legal issues, arson investigations, EDR data,
money laundering, and so much more. We are also excited to hear
from industry leaders such as David Glawe, CEO of NICB; Matthew
Smith, Executive Director of the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud;
Evangelina Brooks of the Florida Department of Investigative
Services; and our keynote speaker, Joseph Kenda, star of the Discovery
television show, Homicide Hunter.
In recognizing the 20th anniversary of 9/11, IASIU is also proud to
announce the proceeds from this year's golf tournament will be given
to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation. The tournament will be held
at the Celebration Golf Club on the morning of September 12 and
will be a fun time for all!
So much is going on over the next few months, I would be remiss
not to include IASIU's involvement in this year's Global Insurance
Fraud Summit and November's Insurance Fraud Awareness Week.
Learn more about both events on our website and Calendar of Events.
In closing, I thank each of you for all that you do to fight insurance
fraud, as well as your continued support and involvement in
IASIU and the fraud fighting community. I also want to thank all
our members who participate in our local chapters, our Chapter
Presidents, the IASIU Board of Directors, and our business partners.
Each of you individually makes a difference every day. As President
of IASIU, I am honored to serve and lead this great organization. We
are 4,000 members strong and growing!
