Job Description + Performance
With whom you surround yourself is crucial. Set
up employees for success; in addition to providing a job description that lists tasks, create a document that gives them your standards and sets
out the expected level of performance.
Beyond the standards for individual jobs, make
sure to communicate standards that apply to all.
Everyone has a role to play in marketing: asking
for reviews, sending notes, making calls, and
answering the phone.
10. Connect
Build Your Passion
Connecting is key to building and maintaining
that passion. Ms. Peniche recommends setting up
regular opportunities to connect:
Daily: Connect with other staff.
Administrative & Clinical Staff
Every six weeks: Have a staff lunch out. No business talk. Keep it simple; the important thing is
that everyone's together. If someone can't make
it, that's OK. Don't reschedule.
Once a year: Schedule an adventure. Make it a
trip to do something you wouldn't normally do.
Go river rafting. Go to an amusement park. And
again, if someone can't make it, stick with the
plan no matter what.
Ms. Peniche ended the lecture by encouraging
attendees to go back to doing what they do best.
It is her goal that the tips she provides will help
orthodontists achieve a higher level of excellence
in their practices.
