Faculty Files primary canine as a pathway for permanent canine traction in an attempt to preserve buccal alveolar bone. This technique is indicated for canines that are located high in the maxilla in line with the arch. The following case report shows a patient with an impacted maxillary right canine who was treated with maxillary premolar extractions and closed exposure (Figures 1-3). Figure 1.
