BS: We recognize that patients benefit from receiving orthodontic treatment close to home whenever possible. The SCH Craniofacial Center serves Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Alaska, and Hawaii, and the relationship between SCH and orthodontists in the community goes both ways. Some patients are referred to the Craniofacial Center by their local orthodontists, while others are referred by SCH to community Summer 2017 PCSO Bulletin orthodontists. When patients receive orthodontic consultation at SCH, they generally return to their orthodontists with endorsements of or slight modifications to their treatment plans as needed to meet the standard of care in craniofacial rehabilitation. Electronic transfer of orthodontic records facilitates communication between the patients' orthodontists and the SCH team. Case 2 is an example of a patient planned at SCH by the team, with surgery done at SCH and orthodontic treatment by a community orthodontist. 49
