Portrait of a Professional BH: What should we expect when referring a patient to the SCH Craniofacial Center? BS: Provider referrals are submitted electronically: http://www.seattlechildrens.org/clinicsprograms/craniofacial/refer-a-patient/. The family is called by a craniofacial nurse; through a structured interview, a determination is made regarding which disciplines are most appropriate for the patient's situation. Recognizing that many families travel to SCH, efforts are made to arrange a "team day," when a patient can meet and be evaluated by a multidisciplinary team from 19 specialty areas based upon his/her needs. This enables our team to create an individual plan of care for the patient. BH: Barbara, thanks very much for sharing with us what goes on at Seattle Children's Hospital.
