positions. I am truly in awe at the level of commitment shown by PCSO volunteers, day in and
day out.

I would like to offer my sincere gratitude to my
fellow executive committee members. Past President Dr. Bryan Hicks has been willing to share his
experience and offer guidance throughout the
year. Dr. Norm Nagel, AAO Trustee for PCSO, is
the epitome of true dedication to the profession,
AAO, and PCSO. His years of experience and
wealth of knowledge are an asset not only to
the PCSO board, but to the PCSO membership
as a whole. PCSO Delegation Chair Dr. Ron Wolk
brings PCSO's views to the seven other constituents of the AAO and thoughtfully represents
our delegation in the House of Delegates, where
the rubber meets the road and every decision,
affecting all of us as orthodontists, is made.
Finally, I know that I leave the helm in excellent
hands with President-Elect Dr. Kamrin Olfert and
Secretary-Treasurer Dr. Kurt Stormberg. They have
worked diligently to ensure that our critical
issues task forces and several other key committees, including budget, investments, and communications, have shown great progress this year.

We have also been hard at work reviewing the
PCSO Bylaws and Policy & Procedures Manual in
order to ensure that we are in compliance and
current in our governance efforts. PCSO has seen
many changes throughout the years, and we
must ensure that our governing documents
reflect these adjustments. Look for amendments
in the coming months.

My Annual Session planning committee also
deserves recognition. A special thanks to Drs. Ron
Wolk (General Chair), Steven Dugoni (Doctor Program Chair), Kurt Stormberg (Staff Program CoChair), Frank Beglin (Local Arrangements Chair),
Ms. Carol Eaton (Staff Program Co-Chair), and Ms.
Christine Townsend (Staff Roundtable Chair). The
program, events, and activities, plus the scenery
that Reno-Tahoe has to offer are impeccable. I
hope you will join us there to celebrate PCSO.
Our Critical Issues Task Forces (CITFs) have
already dedicated a great deal of time to making
sure that PCSO thrives well into the future. We
are working to identify potential enhancements
to make our Annual Session an even better experience for our members, develop leadership
development resources for our constituent and

Here's to the Future
The future is bright for PCSO, and I look forward
to what lies ahead. Our board and other volunteer leaders and staff take great pride in their
work on behalf of PCSO. I see potential for
improvement in areas where we already succeed
and know that the best is yet to come. To our
new and younger members, I encourage you all
to get involved in leadership early in your careers
and help shape the future of your profession.
Enjoy the pleasure of giving to the profession
that brings you so much fulfillment. I can assure
you that you will receive more than you give.
I am humbled to have been able to serve as your
president and I thank you for this amazing experience. The relationships forged and lessons
learned during these last few years have made
me a better person. I am amazed, more than ever,
by the power of collaboration, teamwork, and
rubbing shoulders with highly committed individuals who share a common cause and deeply
care for our profession. In the words of Margaret
Mead, "Never doubt that a small group of
thoughtful, committed citizens can change the
world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
As a result of being a leader with the PCSO, I have
gained continued purpose and a better ability to
serve my community and represent the specialty.
I encourage all of you to lead with purpose and
find true meaning in the work that we all love. 
