The British Columbia Society of
Orthodontists (BCSO) and Centrifuge Media Group of Vancouver
recently completed a full website
redesign and optimization. The most important
aspect of the new site is the enhanced member
search. BCSO members can provide more detailed
information about their practices, including photos, video, and social media links. Members are
encouraged to update their profile and practice
information. The site will appear much more
credible to the public if member profiles are current and complete. A new URL will help potential
orthodontic patients find BCSO members
throughout the province.
The BCSO continues to focus on public awareness of our specialty. The Consumer Awareness
Campaign (CAP) is now in its fourth year. Centrifuge Media Group will be implementing the
campaign over the next year. Centrifuge is a local
firm and we hope to send out a strong message
to the people of British Columbia.
The BCSO will host a special event in April; the
speaker will be Dr. Luis Carriere. This event will be
exclusive to BCSO members and will be well
attended. Our annual general meeting is scheduled for June 8 at UBC Golf Club in Vancouver.

CAO Consumer Awareness
Campaign Continues
As our campaign continues, California Association of Orthodontists (CAO) is delivering consumer messaging
that is even more targeted toward orthodonticspecific content. In an effort to augment the
reach of CAO social media messaging, members

have been receiving regular email blasts offering
the materials needed to customize CAO social
media posts for their individual offices.
CAO members still have an opportunity to join a
private CAO members-only Facebook page that
serves as an internal communication tool to
share news, events, and information of interest
to members. CAO members may ask to join the
Facebook page by visiting. An administrator will
be happy to approve your participation.
Save the Date
CAO is pleased to announce that we will once
again sponsor a staff training event in conjunction with the PCSO Annual Session in Monterey.
Tracy Moawad will offer a presentation entitled
"Embracing Change: From Survive to Thrive,"
which will provide doctors and staff with helpful
and refreshing strategies for navigating (and
even enjoying) changes that take place in their
offices. Registration opens in early April, and
much more information will be coming your way.
Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 11, and
plan to attend!
Access to Care
CAO continues to offer members the opportunity
to share resources and talents with children from
families who are unable to afford orthodontic
treatment and do not qualify for public assistance programs. Over 100 CAO members have
agreed to provide care through Smiles Change
Lives (SCL), our endorsed access-to-care program;
we are currently treating over 365 cases. SCL handles all the administrative details, such as screening and qualifying patients, in order to ensure
that donated time and skills are spent on qualified, compliant, and motivated patients. If you
