Case Report How would you treat this malocclusion? Pre-Treatment Case H.M. 48 years, 3 months A video of this case can be found at www.pcsortho.org. Extraoral and Intraoral Findings A 48-year-old female patient presents in good health with a non-contributory medical history. Her chief concern is crowding and anterior crossbite. She has mild beginning recession on several teeth. Although most of her periodontal probings are within normal limits, some in the posterior quadrants are in the 4 mm range. She has a root canal on tooth #3 and crowns in all four posterior quadrants. Her profile shows a straight Class III profile with protrusive lower lip; her lips are slightly apart at rest. Her upper lip is on the E-line, while her lower lip protrudes 3 mm in front of the E-line. She has a Class I dental occlusion on her right side and an end-on Class III occlusion on her left side with anterior crossbite. She has moderate crowding in both arches, with mild curve of Spee in the mandibular arch. The gingival margins of the maxillary anterior teeth are uneven. The maxillary dental midline is coincident with her facial midline, but the mandibular dental midline is slightly deviated to the left.
