What are your plans after graduation?
I am extremely fortunate to have the chance to
join the group practice of my family friend, Dr.
Kent Goldade, who originally piqued my interest
in orthodontics. I will be buying into the Regina
Orthodontic Group in Regina, SK, where I will be
joining Drs. Kent Goldade, Mike Ziglo, Kam Olfert,
and Brian Phee. I have had the opportunity to get
to know each of them over several years, and I
feel lucky to have the chance to practice alongside them and to work in such a collaborative
group practice. My wife and I are excited to be
moving back to Regina, as we are looking forward
to putting down roots in the community where I
grew up.
What benefits do you enjoy from the PCSO/AAO?
One of the biggest benefits I have enjoyed from
the AAO throughout residency is its Mentoring
Program. I was one of the first participants to use
it during their pilot year; I found it tremendously
helpful, as it connected me with one-on-one
mentors as well as larger study groups addressing specific areas of interest. These mentors have
been invaluable in providing career guidance,
practice management knowledge, and a vast
amount of real world advice for orthodontic resi-

dents and new orthodontists. I have even used
conferences held by AAO and PCSO as a chance
to meet several of my mentors in person, which
has really made the mentoring connection all
that much more meaningful. I have also had the
chance to experience PCSO's new financial
resource presentation for residents and the AAO
resident legal course held in person by AAO
lawyer, Sean Murphy. I have taken advantage of
many of the practice management documents
provided on the AAO website.
Tell us about your family and personal interests.
I have been happily married to my wife Daniela
since 2016. We got married in Cartagena, Colombia, during my first year of residency. I met her in
Jacksonville, FL, while working at a summer job
after my first year of university and was able to
convince her to move up to the Great White
North after I finished dental school. We have two
dogs with whom we love exploring Vancouver
and British Columbia, whether checking out
some of the many hiking trails or road tripping to
the numerous beautiful areas that the province
has to offer. My wife and I love to travel whenever
we can and are looking forward to a little more
free time after residency when we can visit new
places. We truly enjoy good food and like to try
new restaurants wherever we go, which has led
to us planning on opening our own artisan ice
cream store when we move back to Regina. 
