A Word from the President
about Summer Conference
T

his summer we are holding our annual Summer Conference in Mexico. Although
the list of concerns is long, our hopes are also plentiful because we believe that
god is opening a door of opportunity to enter into a new way of being in this world as
BPFNA~Bautistas por la Paz!
We realize that entering this door requires that we travel to Mexico in a step of faith
and love to make one more courageous statement with our lives! By entering this door,
we are daring to imagine a world in which our beloved organization is able to take deeper
root in Mexico and other Spanish-speaking countries.
We are daring to imagine a world in which people from more privileged parts of the
world are willing to travel to places they may not have gone before, to become immigrants
and gracious recipients of our Mexican sisters and brothers' hospitality. We are daring
to imagine that by being in Mexico we will widen our community of peacemakers even
more and learn to see god with new eyes.
We are daring to share our hearts with each other regardless of the linguistic or cultural
differences we may experience. Most of all, we are daring to choose to trust god's love
pouring so abundantly into our hearts that there will always be more than enough for
everyone to be loved and welcome!
We hope to see you in Mexico July 17-22 in Campo Mazahua near Mexico City. If
you can't be there, please keep us in your prayers.

easy ways
to increase the
impact of your gift-
even if you cannot
give more!
We are deeply grateful to
everyone who gives to support
our work of gathering,
equipping and mobilizing
peacemakers throughout the
world. Your generosity changes
-and even saves-lives.
If you'd like to increase the
impact of your gifts, consider:
1. Making your gift early
in the year. Like most
nonprofits, we receive the bulk
of our funding in the final
quarter of the year, much of
it during the last month of
the year. The first months of
the year are a lean time for
gifts, even while our expenses
remain the same. A gift in
the first half of the year helps to
address the gap between income and
expenses. To donate now, go to

2. Pledge. Donors at any
level can become pledgers
simply by telling us what
you plan to donate in a
given year. Your pledge can
be paid monthly, quarterly,
semiannually or as one lump
sum. If you like, we can set
up an automatic payment
so you have one less thing to
remember. Knowing what we can
expect from our most faithful givers
makes it much easier for us to plan.
