to transmit both 406 MHz and 121.5 MHz signals. It features further options including a two-wire remote switch
that does not require aircraft power. Activated manually
using a cockpit-mounted remote switch or automatically
via internal G-switch, the 406 MHz signal is transmitted to
the global Cospas-Sarsat satellite network and routed to
the nearest search and rescue agency. GPS data embedded within the digital transmission reduces the search
radius to 100 meters.

Airtext
The Airtext hardware is a paperback-size box weighing
less than a pound, which can be used on the ground or
in the air. Its small size and light weight make it appropriate for even smaller business aircraft, or as supplemental
connectivity for large-cabin jets. Using the Iridium constellation means worldwide coverage and low-cost burst
messaging, and the Airtext+ upgrade even allows cellphone calls with a prepaid sim card.
New for 2018 is enhanced pilot functionality. Initially,
according to the
company, the service was designed
for passengers but
has "morphed" into
a datalink for pilots.
Among other services
AirText message annunciator
available through the
Airtext FAA-approved
servers are digital ATIS reception along with METARs and
TAFs, both of which are accessible at any time. Airtext
also can be used with FBOlink, which allows flight crew to
text messages to an FBO's customer service desk from
anywhere in the world. Also new for 2018 is a separate
panel-mounted annunciator advising flight crew if they
have a waiting message, and a Bluetooth antenna extender for larger aircraft.

ALTO Aviation
New for 2018 is ALTO's Cadence In-Line Relay
Controller, an easy-to-install device designed to use local
relays and preserve existing aircraft wiring, minimizing
woodwork and other installation costs. Switch panels
featuring up to three relays plug directly into the controller
or it may be used as a discrete, stand-alone device.
According to the company, it has been specifically
designed to provide the business aviation retrofit market
with a fast, easy and cost-friendly way to upgrade
