ing for 270 (volt), and more and more we are seeing
that people are coming in looking for 270-volt systems,
even in the commercial market," Farides said. To meet
that demand, Esterline has developed proprietary arc
suppression methods and maintains galvanic isolation,
resulting in products flying now in demonstrators and
expected to be on the market next year.

FreeFlight Systems
New from FreeFlight Systems is the Avail Performance Package, which the company says provides
a cost-effective and complete ADS-B solution for
Beech King Airs and other twin turboprop aircraft.
Included in the Avail package are dual FDL-1090-TX
1090 Mode S/ES transponders, a RANGR-RX/G 978
ADS-B receiver with an internal WAAS/GPS, an integrated Wi-Fi capability and the single control head
necessary. These products provide twin turboprop
aircraft a modular, all-in-one solution to equip with
ADS-B In and Out for the upcoming Jan. 1, 2020
mandate.
FreeFlight says its FDL-1090-TX is one of the smallest Mode S/ES transponders available today and can
be mounted anywhere within the pressure vessel. The
control head's intuitive user interface features positive
control knobs and push buttons for squawk code designations, IDENT and VFR selections. The control head
employs a sunlight-readable, backlit LED display and
fits in a standard 2 ΒΌ-inch instrument hole.
The TSO'd RANGR-RX/G serves as the rule-compliant position source required for ADS-B Out and also
provides the FAA's Flight Information Services-Broadcast and Traffic Information Services-Broadcast data,
available from ADS-B In. The RANGR-RX works with
"a multitude" of multifunction displays and tablet-based
EFB software to display the ADS-B In data.
The AML STC for the Avail program is scheduled
for release in late summer 2018, and will include most
common twin turboprop aircraft.

Garmin
Garmin has introduced several new product lines in
recent months, including digital autopilots and what the
company calls its "next-generation, all-glass integrated
flight deck," the TXi series. At the 2018 AEA Convention,
Garmin's Jim Alpiser presented two new products aimed
at the rotorcraft market: the GFC 600H helicopter flight
control system and the G500H TXi integrated flight deck.
According to the company,
the GFC 600H flight control
system is a "breakthrough in
cost-effective technology that
reduces pilot workload and
improves mission effectiveness." The attitude-based
system employs an AHRS
and includes safety features
like a stability augmentation
system, a dedicated returnto-level mode and hover
assist, plus overspeed and
low-speed protection. The
GFC 600H also offers integration with compatible flight

displays, instruments and
navigation sources.
Designed specifically for Part 27 VFR helicopters, the
G500H TXi includes a 10.6-inch touchscreen LCD and
two versions of 7-inch displays, available in portrait or
landscape orientation. The flight deck is equipped with
a five-color Helicopter Terrain Awareness and Warning
System, WireAware wire-strike avoidance technology
and Garmin's HSVT 3D synthetic vision.

Genesys Aerosystems
Genesys Aerosystems was formed in 2014 when
Chelton Flight Systems Inc. and S-TEC Corp., previously
doing business as Cobham Avionics, were acquired. The
company's director of sales and marketing, Jamie Luster,
briefed attendees on a wide range of new STCs for the
S-TEC 3100 digital flight control system.
The S-TEC 3100 is a two- or three-axis unit available
with an internal attitude and heading reference system
featuring built-in autopilot, flight director and yaw damper
controls, flight director capability to drive pitch and roll
bars together with mode annunciations on compatible
EFIS displays, and lateral and vertical navigation. In
addition to envelope protection, and straight and level
recovery, the autopilot can provide underspeed and over-
