ARINCDirect
Dashboard

cabin usage apps for smartphones and tablets.
"Our new ARINCDirect Dashboard provides customers aircraft status and data usage at a glance," Wilson
said. "The cabin dashboard is customizable and allows
you to quickly and easily create the look and feel you
want. At a glance, for example, you can see information
on where your aircraft is flying and how much time is left
in the flight."
The ARINCDirect cabin usage app for smartphones
and tablets helps users manage how their SwiftBroadband data is being utilized. The app shows current usage
and billing cycle information for a specific tail number(s)
or for a fleet on a particular plan. Daily and monthly usage information is available, and users can set data
thresholds and receive alerts, even viewing the data by
the specific applications being used. The app can be
used as a widget in the background to conserve battery
power while still seeing updates on a locked screen.

Rosen Aviation
Rosen Aviation provides cabin electronic devices,
including displays, controllers and source equipment to
both OEMs and MROs. The company offers a vertically
integrated solution combining R&D, design, manufacturing
and product support, and recently launched its RosenView Access cabin entertainment and information system,
which it bills as "smart infotainment." Now, Rosen is offering a component of that system, its media input panel,
as a stand-alone product, and is adding a tablet holder
designed to work with existing display mount bases.
"The target market for the Rosen media input panel is
the aftermarket, of course; however, the OEM side has
also expressed a strong interest," said Patrick Bloodworth,

business development manager for Rosen Aviation, at the
AEA Convention. The MIP combines an HDMI and USB
connector and is designed for passenger plug-in of personal electronic devices carried aboard the aircraft. The HDMI
interface converts signals to the serial digital interface,
which then can be sent to compatible Rosen displays. The
MIP's USB connection offers device charging at 1.5 amps
while the HDMI includes adjustable line level audio output.
Both the HDMI and USB ports feature dimmable ring lights.
The MIP's bezel is held in place magnetically.
Bloodworth also introduced the Rosen Tablet Holder,
which leverages the thousands of installed Rosen base
receptacles with a new component designed to mount
tablet computers. Tablets are placed in a cradle with nonskid material and featuring an integrated 2.1-amp USB
charging port.

SmartSky Networks
"At last, the era of 4G LTE connectivity for the light jet
and turboprop market is upon us," Alan Goodnight, SmartSky Networks' vice president for business aviation, told
attendees at the 2018 AEA Convention. He was introducing
the company's new SmartSky LiTE in-flight connectivity
solution that brings 4G LTE internet and data to smaller aircraft. "Turboprop and light-jet operators will have full access
to blazing-fast internet throughout the aircraft, providing
connectivity for both the flight deck and aircraft systems,
as well as in the cabin," the company said in a release announcing the new service.
The company says SmartSky LiTE is the first fullfunctioning internet solution
for light jets and turboprops.
It's exclusively designed for
aircraft with maximum takeoff weights less than 19,000
pounds and offers unlimited web access at an affordable
price. In fact, introductory pricing is available for a limited
time, meaning less than $50,000 for the hardware while
unlimited data is available at $75 an hour.
SmartSky LiTE customers also will be able to access
Skytelligence-powered applications from other providers,
including apps designed to optimize fuel management,
maximize flight planning efficiencies, monitor weather or
access dynamically optimized rerouting recommendations. Skytelligence apps can be used for real-time operations updates, predictive analytics and pilot-advisory information as well as flight information database access.
