Jupiter Avionics
For an avionics shop whose bread and butter is a customer
flying the airways, serving the very real but different
priorities of special-mission operators may take them in new
directions. When that happens, it might be time to go to an
unconventional supplier of components and accessories
like Jupiter Avionics. Its newest products were introduced by
Bryan Hart, sales and marketing director.
" This year, Jupiter has 12 new products to introduce, " Hart
told attendees. The JA72-510/610 is a Dzus-mount glove box
with dual USB-C 45-watt charging ports. The -610 version
comes with built-in Bluetooth connectivity, allowing wireless
connections to other audio systems aboard. Meanwhile, the
JA72-510/610 provides the same USB-C charging capability
but in a smaller, no-glove-box package. As with the JA72-610,
the JA74-610 offers Bluetooth connectivity.
" Next up, we have the JA94-R62A, a dual, six-channel mixing
amplifier; with two mixers having six channels, you get up
to 12 channels, total, " Hart said. " This one box has two inputs
and two outputs, and it's also TSO-certified. "
The JPC-1032 power converter provides a stable 28 volts
of output power for a wide range of input voltages, allowing
28-volt equipment to operate during engine start and other
low-voltage situations. It also facilitates installing 28-volt
equipment in a 14-volt environment.
Hart also introduced the JLD-001 panel-mounted light dimmer,
which works with input voltages of 10-32, and provides a
steady 28v maximum output.
Also new from Jupiter are a set of JA71 blanking plate
accessories: the JA71-HL7 with Velcro; the JA71-RC2A,
a round plate for instrument clamps; the JA71-TT1, for
installing Trig's line of compact transceivers and transponders;
and the JA71-CH1, a cup holder. Jupiter also introduced
the JA71-PP1x panel protector, a set of handhold
rails to protect its Eclipse audio control equipment and
other glass-paneled units.

Avionics Radio Test Set, ARTS-7000.
Laversab's ARTS-7000 is a multifunction, all-in-one test
set designed to meet all aircraft radio test requirements in a
single unit. It's controlled wirelessly - from inside the cockpit
or around the aircraft - via a simple touchscreen interface. It
conducts standard tests, including radio communication, navigation,
distance measuring equipment, Mode S, ADS-B and
emergency locator transmitters. Optional tests can include
TCAS, UAT and GPS. The ARTS-7000 is user configurable
and expandable to meet future avionics requirements. It is
built to test any airborne platform, including general and business
aviation, commercial airliners, helicopters and military
applications.
Kerry Nabors, Laversab's aviation systems manager,
updated attendees at the AEA Convention on the company's
new additions to the ARTS-7000's capabilities.
" We are excited to announce that we have released three
new functions for our Laversab ARTS-7000 ... These functions
are GPS simulation, a VSWR meter and distance to
fault. The GPS test includes both fixed position as well as
motion simulation via waypoints. By connecting to a Laversab
air data tester, you have a complete platform, automated for
91.411 and .413 testing. We are very excited about all the capabilities
in the ARTS and the fact that we've received Boeing
approval, as well as other OEMs, " Nabors told attendees.

Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics introduced an
all-digital version of the company's popular 2-inch, three-instrument
