Harness Planner
NEW PRODUCTS

The company's new, digital standby family features its Flex
attitude indicator, Flex counter drum encoding altimeter and
Flex airspeed indicator. All three instruments are supported by
an AML STC covering more than 180 aircraft models.
Of the three instruments in the new standby package, the
Flex digital attitude indicator includes a solid-state display and
presents attitude information without the need for GPS, magnetometer
or airspeed. It displays attitude, slip, turn rate and
heading - from primary instruments via ARINC input - during
normal or standby operation.
The Flex digital counter drum encoding altimeter, meanwhile,
offers approach minimums alerting, vertical speed
indication, a six-second vertical trend and barometric settings
in millibars, hectopascals or inches of mercury. It's certified
to 55,000 feet. The Flex digital airspeed indicator brings
configurable range markings instead of mechanical ones, and
groundspeed and true airspeed can be displayed with external
ARINC input. It also offers a user-selectable Mach number
display along with a configurable dynamic VMO/MMO barber
pole indicator.
Night-vision versions of all three instruments are also available
as part of the new 3-pack.
Also, Mid-Continent's True Blue Power division introduced
two new aircraft batteries. The TB14 (28 volts and
13 amp-hour) and TB28-12V (12 volts and 26 amp-hour)
lithium-ion batteries are specifically designed for smaller,
fixed-wing, Part 23 aircraft. Weighing just 10 pounds, they
are the company's smallest and lightest aircraft batteries.
With their introduction, True Blue Power now has lithiumion
batteries ranging from 13 amp-hours to 60 amp-hours.
The company plans for STC approval of the batteries on an
extensive list of aircraft models.

One Mile Up
Northern Virginia-based One Mile Up offers a software
program called Panel Planner for - as its name implies - designing
aircraft instrument panels. " We've been doing this for
about 25 years, " Gene Velasquez, president and founder, told
AEA Convention attendees, " and our software is really meant
for those people who want to show their customer what the
panel's going to look like. "
" Every panel that we want to start, everything we want to
work with can be very easy, can work so well ... sometimes, "
he continued. " But when it goes bad, the things that can go
bad are almost endless.
The kind of problems that
you can run into with the
technology is pretty amazing.
What I'm hearing today
is such great new technologies
are coming to the
industry, it's actually mindboggling
just sitting here
and listening to all the things
that are coming through.
" With this new technology, how do you make it happen? "
he asked. " Part of the problem is paperwork: getting approvals,
getting the technology to be accepted. These kinds
of things can take years. As you probably all know with the
technology that you've seen, it's probably taken every one
of those manufacturers years to be able to get through that
process.
" Imagine trying to take 2023 technology and put it together
with 1970 wiring. One of the new products we'll be showing
today is Harness Planner: how you can take that whole wiring
problem and harness it. Another thing we'll be showing is ...
carbon fiber design: doing text, being able to silkscreen. "

PS Engineering
" This is not a new product introduction ... this is a revolution, "
Gary Picou, PS Engineering vice president, said as he
opened his presentation. " Today, I introduce you to a new
generation of control: on-wing configurability. Today, we present
the HUB50. "
The fully digital HUB50
is integrated into an
existing PS Engineering
PAC45A system, using
the current versions of the
CTL45/A control heads.
It is backward compatible
with its predecessor, the
HUB45AR. The HUB50
moves audio system
configuration away from
the multiple switches and
HUB50 iPhone application
potentiometers and places them into an easy-to-use iPhone
application. With the application, more than 250 different
parameters can be configured, including which stations hear
