Typographic Shifts: Designing
a Better Future
What if you could bring effective change
to your publication simply by changing
fonts? A systematic transformation of
typography can lead to an engaging and
relevant appearance without a total redesign. By embracing the spirit of typographic innovation, you can refresh your
publication's impact and strengthen its
personality to boot.

Engage Readers via
Superpower Storytelling
Your publication tells member stories every
day, but if no one understands that's what
you're doing, does it matter? Learn how
REALTORĀ® Magazine partnered with
an outside vendor to create a multimedia
storytelling program that pinpointed how
members make a difference for their clients
and in their communities by using their "superpowers" as REALTORSĀ®. By helping
members communicate these unique contributions, the magazine elevated traditional
member marketing to the next level and
allowed readers to take ownership of their
special roles in their communities. You'll
learn how to expand this project to include
a reader video contest, embedded with little
risk and great reward in terms of audience
engagement. Finally, by using an upcoming website redesign project as the catalyst,
you'll see how to reframe your publication
as a vital listening arm of your organization,
differentiating your services from other
departments. In essence, by highlighting
the superpowers of your readership, you
also have the opportunity to highlight the
superpowers of your staff and platforms.

Make It Personal with
First-Person Essays
If associations exist to support their
members, then association publications
exist to tell their members' stories. This
session will explore how first-person
prose can breathe new (and sometimes
literary) life into niche publications. The
panel of storytellers will offer advice on
identifying compelling themes, engaging
contributors - and ultimately, growing
readership.

Stump the Content Strategist!
In this exciting twist to panel discussion, we'll bring a panel of web content
strategists together and have them each
compete to provide advice to the audience
in less than 120 seconds. Using noisecanceling headphones, we'll ensure each
panelist can't hear the answers provided
by the other panelists.
