The "Verdier
& Gutmacher"
laminated cloth doll
is marked "VI," (size
6), "VG" for "Verdier
& Gutmacher,"
and "Bté SGDG,"
on the back of the
neck. This marking
does not appear
on any "Verdier &
Gutmacher" dolls
with bisque heads.

The view of
the inside of
the "Verdier &
Gutmacher"
laminated doll's
head, reveals the
different layers of
jaconet. The eyes
are fixed with a
large piece of heavy
cotton glued to the
last layer of jaconet.
Note the metal wire
in place to keep
both sides of the
head apart.

The doll's original
blonde mohair
wig is attached to
original cork pate.

Details of a fine buckram-type cotton is shown under the
coating and before the fine linen and the layers of jaconet.
