leader and collaborator in the complex world of genomics, where applications are emerging rapidly in medical
research, clinical testing, and therapy. He then touched
on multi-dimensional partnering across multiple industries and the influence of large-scale DNA sequencing on
the public sector.

Dickinson co-founded Helixis with Nobel Laureate David
Baltimore. Dickinson joined Illumina when it acquired his
company, and ended up spending a decade there as senior
vice president of strategic initiatives, while the company rode a massive wave of growth based on its scientific
advances. His team developed nation-scale population sequencing programs and fostered a stream of innovative
sequencing applications with partners. Life science start-up
ChromaCode is his latest venture, where he is co-founder
and executive chairman. The company applies its expertise
in digital signal processing and machine learning to life
science in conjunction with an exclusive licensing arrangement with the California Institute of Technology.
