Australia's largest telecommunications and media company
created the Telstra Foundation
to assist Australians living with a
disability and power the Cerebral
Palsy Alliance's impact accelerator,
which works to find avenues for
breakthrough technologies that
can make a difference in individual lives. The accelerator is geared
to run for 16 weeks, and startups
receive $20,000 in seed funding
along with training, user testing,
and access to an extensive mentor
network. One example of an impact accelerator startup is Sydney
healthtech AbilityMate, which
uses 3-D printing technology to
create open source personal devices for people with disabilities.
UK-based
PricewaterhouseCoopers
(PwC), a professional
services company and
ASAP corporate member,
and Pole Star,
a maritime fleet monitoring and
risk management solution provider, are partnering to assist
financial services companies
involved in maritime trade. "The
