Strategic Alliance Magazine Q2 2016 - 43
MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
member, and almost all of my team is already active in
some way-from board membership, presenting at the
global summit, to local chapter support. What's even more
impressive is that we have three CSAP certified on the
team and eight CA-AM certified-a great testament to the
commitment and focus we have on ASAP. "
"What I like most about my alliance leadership team, apart
from their dedication and focus, is the diversity in
experience, skill set, and talent across the team.
Core alliance skills are a given, but every partnership, technology, and market is different, so
having the ability to draw on experience from
different backgrounds, companies, skills, and
markets allows us to look at our opportunities in
many different ways and potentially establish
new ways to drive our alliances," he noted.
Defense has directed all DoD agencies to begin
the rapid deployment of Microsoft Windows 10
throughout their respective organizations for information systems currently utilizing Microsoft
operating systems. "From laptops to desktops
to mobile devices, including Surface devices, the
DoD is targeting its Windows 10 upgrade for
completion in a year, an unprecedented move for a
customer with the size and complexity of the DoD,"
according to the office of the DoD website.
Citrix is supporting this massive project with its XenDesktop and XenApp, which add new capabilities to older
systems, including enabling the upgrade to Windows 10.
Because Citrix technology allows people to seamlessly
communicate and collaborate across any device or location, and securely access data and apps based on their job
role and work scenario, it has proved to be exactly what
the DoD needed to be compliant as quickly and efficiently as possible while saving taxpayer dollars. (See: https://

"I'm very proud of the leadership role Citrix and my team
have taken with the ASAP organization over the past several years," Blacklock continued. "We are a Global ASAP
In the tech industry, the technology and the way it
delivers solutions to customers continues to change at
an accelerated pace. How Citrix partners in these rapidly transforming markets is also changing. "I would want
ASAP to be challenging itself to network, educate, and
enable the alliance professional community to keep pace
with these changes-both in the market and with our alliance skills," Blacklock stated.
When asked about the kind of partners and alliances Citrix seeks, Blacklock was quick to respond with the word
"leverage." The core business value they look for in strategic alliance partners is leverage-strategic, solution,
marketing, and sales leverage.
"Different partners may have varying strengths in each of
these areas, but they must have some element of leverage
for us to focus on them as a strategic alliance," he explained. "And it goes without saying that for the partner,
the same must be true of us for there to be a fit as a strategic partnership."
"I may get myself into trouble by trying to list our partners, as I'm likely to miss a few, but the list would simply
be too long," Blacklock admitted. "However, as a quick
list of our current strategic partners, I would highlight
the following partners that play different roles in our
leverage strategy: Amazon, Apple, CapGemini, Cisco,
CSC, Dell, Dimension Data, Ericsson, Fujitsu, Google,
HPE, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Nokia, Nutanix, Samsung,
SAP, and many more." n
