special silent auction/
sealed bid items in the
Helper Room.

FALL 2017

Friday evening's dinner was
sponsored by Doll Study Club of
Boston and featured an informative
program by past UFDC President Linda
Edward that taught us more about the
history of "Little Women." The Friday
activities continued after dinner with a
Publisher's Preview and time to browse
through the Helper Room as well as the
Competitive and Special Exhibits.
The Black Gold Doll Club of New
England sponsored a Junior Collector's
event on Saturday afternoon entitled,
"Louisa May Alcott's Little Women -
Now and Then." Encouraging future
doll collectors, the event hosted 70
children and adults. Doll displays,
puzzles, games, and craft activities
made this a memorable event. Each
Junior Collector received an 18-inch
play doll generously donated by the
Alexander Doll Company and the
United Federation of Doll Clubs. Door
prizes, goody bags and other surprises
also were part of this special event.
Thanks to the generosity of
conference attendees, there was an
incredible Helper Room. Over 150
wonderful ticketed items and five silent
auction/sealed bid items provided
a diverse array of possible items to
win. Corporate sponsors Withington's
Auctions donated the tote bags
and Dollspart Supply provided the
signage. Various clubs and individuals
sponsored events, donated helpers,
and money to help defray costs, and
volunteered their time so everyone
could enjoy this event.
The conference officially ended
with the Saturday evening banquet.
The Sudbury Ancient Fyfe and Drum
Companie entertained the audience
before dinner. The Granite State Doll
Club provided centerpieces and favors
that coordinated with the theme, "the
March family's Christmas Celebration."
It was a wonderful way to relax with
friends both old and new. After a
delicious prime rib dinner, Tony Iacono
presented a program focused on his
