Overview
he Secretary-Treasurer records or causes to be
recorded all minutes of all proceedings of the
Board of Directors, the Executive Committee and
the annual business meeting of the organization. She
is responsible, with the UFDC Financial Manager,
for overseeing all funds, with full and accurate
accounts of the receipts and disbursements of the
corporation in books belonging to it. The SecretaryTreasurer, with the Financial Manager, supervises
the disbursement of the funds of the corporation
in accordance with the authority granted by the
Board of Directors and the President. The SecretaryTreasurer is also the Director of New Membership
and In Our Memories Coordinator.
The duties of the Secretary-Treasurer were carried
out according to the job requirements. Minutes were
recorded for the 2016 Annual Meeting, the 2016 PostConvention Meeting, the Fall Executive Committee
Meeting, the Spring Executive Committee Meeting,
the Board of Directors membership symposium, the
special Board meeting (during the symposium) and
the May 6th and May 17th, Special Meetings of the
Executive Committee. All actions taken by the
Board of Directors and the Executive Committee
were documented.
Unity's Newsletter was published quarterly and
distributed electronically to the Board of Directors
for distribution to the club presidents and posted on
the UFDC website.
Lists were compiled and submitted quarterly
for the In Our Memories column in Doll News.
Cards of condolences were sent to clubs, and
donation acknowledgements were sent to clubs,
friends or families.
The Secretary-Treasurer reviewed all checks and
invoices prepared by UFDC Financial Manager
Sheryl Sunderman. The Treasurer and the Financial
Manager collaborated in presenting the annual

review of the ﬁscal year September 1, 2015 - August
31, 2016 that was published in the spring 2017 issue of
DOLL NEWS.
The Secretary-Treasurer, with the other Executive
Ofﬁcers, attended Region 6's conference in Billings,
Montana and Region 15's conference in Framingham,
Massachusetts. She also represented UFDC at several
doll events and club meetings throughout the year.
The Executive Committee, as a team, manned the
UFDC information and sales table at both Regional
Conferences.
The Secretary-Treasurer also serves as the
Director of New Membership and is responsible for
promotion, recruitment and retention of members,
support and assistance to clubs, and liaison with the
Regional Directors.
As Director of New Membership she conducted
Regional Director Newsletter training at the 2016
convention in Washington, D.C, and conducted New
Regional Director training in the fall of 2016. Quarterly
Regional newsletters were reviewed prior to their
distribution and entry into the UFDC website in order
to insure that a consistent quality is maintained.
In collaboration with UFDC Membership
Coordinator, Jenny Yolkin, all new membership
columns for Doll News were reviewed and submitted.
Membership Status as of February 28, 2017
UFDC has 8,018 members and 8,948 memberships
as of February, 2017. Because some members belong
to more than one club they are counted as a member
in each club, so the number of memberships exceeds
the number of physical members. Of the memberships
number, 1394 are Members-at-Large. UFDC has 8
Corporate Members (including 2 Lifetime Corporate
Members), 36 Library Memberships and 11 Museum
Memberships. 141 Junior Collectors are also included in
the memberships number, plus 24 Honorary members.
UFDC has 441 clubs, although ﬁfty-one (51) of those
clubs currently have less than ten members. In 2017
there are 12 clubs who will have historical anniversaries
of 50 or more years of membership in UFDC.
